Well I was not sure what exactly I wanted to blog about this time around but then I was looking through the Dickson ohana photos and knew exactly what I wanted to blog about. This ohana was so beautiful inside and out. They had invited me into their home with open arms, they were so warm and inviting. Their spunky little 2 year old Brennan was the life of the party for sure, from being a little ham all the way to his little raspberry ordeal, makes me giggle just thinking of the little guy. Then their 3 week old wahine Cailey, was just so precious and oh so photogenic. I was able capture some great moments for this ohana, and had so much fun doing so. Enjoy these photos of this beautiful ohana with me and see such great personalities. Thank you Dickson’s for being so warm and inviting, I look forward to the future photo shoots we will be having together, and capturing some more unforgettable moments.

I had the privilege to photoshoot this wonderful blessing on January 2nd, 2010. What an honor it was for the parents, Amber and Brian McMullin to invite me in, and capture these unforgettable memories for them. It was such a great way to bring the new year in for me. I have been so blessed with having such great clients old and new.

2009 was a great year, with many obstacles. I only pray that 2010 will be just as great or even better. Thank you to everyone for all your support and help making it happen for me!! May 2010 be filled with happiness and triumph!!!

Time for an update. Well it has been along time since I have blogged and a lot has changed over the few months. I have been extremely busy with photoshoots and am now making the big move San Diego. Once we get settled down there I am going to start doing weekly self portrait blogs, along with my normal once a week activity. Then gradually am going to start doing a daily photo blog. It is a new year, a new decade with many new possibilities. I am on the verge of changing my business name to Shalom Photo by. Neka Rae, it is well me, tells you about me, it hebrew for hello and peaceful. We are hoping to visit Vietnam this year to see family which we have been talking about it for about a year now. And I would love to visit Thailand while we are in that direction for the awesome photo ops, Vietnam has amazing photo ops as well, but we will see, I am shooting for the summer to go visit. I am in the midst of designing my website, I know, I know finally right lol. It will still take awhile to create enough to make it live, but I know I can do it. It is time to just make things happen.

Now time for the fun stuff, I got the privilege to shoot an awesome couple on Dec. 28th and it was a great way to end the year 2009. They were such a fun couple to work with, and we had captured their awesome personalities as well……..please enjoy!

A Day In The Park

I did this photoshoot in the beginning of September right before I had my son and it was tons of fun. Jared was so cute and we cannot forget lil’ Bentley cute little chihuahua/dachshund mix. Thanks Jen, Jared and Bentley for such a great day in the park!!!

La Jolla Sunset

I was going through my photos, which I do quite often, and I usually find some treasure in my search. Well this particular day I was going through all of my San Diego pictures and came across this sunset. Why, I had never played with it before is beyond me. But I finally got to it and started cropping a little and barely touched the settings but wanted some texture and played around with it a little and found the perfect texture for it. I absolutely love it. If you would like the texture let me know and I can send it your way!! Below are before the texture and after!!

Bug Hunting Adventure

So for my birthday I took my boys bug hunting. It was so much fun seeing them work as a team. I took a lot of fun photos and came across this awesome bridge that led us to many different paths to choose from. It reminded me of all the paths in life we get choose, and always pray it is the right one. It truly was a great birthday!

To Be A Kid Again

These photos were taken on a merry-go-round in Salem OR. This is how I got this effect: I placed myself and my tripod with my cam on it of course, in the middle of the merry-go-round, my settings were; shutter open, high f-stop mine was f/25, exposure was -5, ISO 320, made sure my model sat still while my boys pushed us and snapped away.

It was a lot of fun playing with my f-stop and sitting there with my daughter. But it also reminded me that I am no longer a child, maybe at heart, while spinning around and taking some photos, aligning them the best that I can while spinning, I got so sick to my stomach. And everyone thought it was quite funny, well it was, when I got off I wondered how in the world do they handle all that spinning over and over again. I remember how I loved it and now I can barely stand it, oh to be a kid again, and enjoy life’s simple things!
